Product ?@ neutralizes gastric acid and protects ulcerated and inflamed sites from gastric acid. It also acts as a laxative. Product ?A also relieves pain associated with gastrointestinal, cholecystic, and ureteral spasm. Product ?B improves various gastrointestinal symptoms. Product ?C neutralizes gastric acid. However, if generates C02, which stimulates the gastric mucosa and causes secondary gastric secretion (acid rebound) that may be undesirable for patients with hyperacidity. Indicatons: Overeating, overdrinking, heartburn, belching, anorexia, hyperacidity, gastritis and peptic ulcer.
Dosage: ?@ 1 tablet 3 times daily after meals. ?A 1 sachet 3 times daily between meals. ?B 1 sachet 3 times daily after meals. ?C 2 tablets 3 times daily before or between meals.
Precautions: Product A must not be used concomitantly with any of the tetracyclines because it may inhibit absorption of these antibiotics.

Antiulcer agents (histamine H2-blockers)
?@Tagamet (Cimetidine tablets 200 mg)
?AZantac (Ranitidine HCI tablets 150 mg)
?BGaster (Famotidine tablets 10 mg)
Histamine H2-blockers produce marked and sustained inhibition of gastric acid secretion by acting on the gastric secretarymechanism. They also suppresses gastrointestinal bleeding.
Indicatons: Gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, acute gastritis, and bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract.
Dosage: ?@ 400 mg (2 tablets) twice daily (after breakfast and at bedtime). ?A 150 mg (1 tablet) twice daily (after breakfast and at bedtime). ?B 20 mg (2 tablets) twice daily (after breakfast and at bedtime). Alternative dosages for these products are 400 mg (2 tablets), 300 mg (2 tablets), and 20 mg (2 tablets) once daily at bedtime, respectively. For the treatment of acute gastritis, these products may be administered at halt the recommended dose for peptic ulcer.
Precautions: 1. When H2-blockers are withdrawn, the dose should be reduced gradually to prevent recurrence of peptic ulcer.
2. When H2-blockers are used concomitantly with diazepam (an anxiolyfic), nifedipine (a coronary vasodilator), or theophylline (a bronchodilator), attention should be paid to possible occurrence of drug interactions. H2-blockers may be administered with care to patients with renal or hepatic disease or with a history of drug allergy. (Consultation with health care professionals through Radio Medical Communications is recommended.)
3. H2-blockers may cause constipation, diarrhea, and skin rashes as well as headache, dizziness, palpitations, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, and liver damage.

Antidiarrheals and drugs for modulating intestinal function
Products ?@ and ?A are also effective for the treatment of diarrhea due to bacterial infection. For further information, see the package insert. Product ?B can be used for the treatment of diarrhea of various types, but should not be used for diarrhea due to bacterial infection or secondary to antibiotic therapy.
Indication: Diarrhea.
Dosage: ?@ 4 tablets 3 times daily with an interval of at least 4 hours between doses. ?A 4 tablets 3 times daily after meals. ?B 1 mg (1 capsule) 1-2 times daily.
Precautions: Antidiarrheals may cause nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, dizziness, skin rashes, and drowsiness.
The drugs for modulating intestinal function suppress abnormal intestinal fermentation and putrefaction by acidifying the intestinal contents and thus normalize bowel movements.
Indications: Abdominal discomfort, abdominal distention, soft stools, diarrhea, constipation, acute colitis, chronic colitis, and prevention of the intestinal complications of antibiotic therapy.
Dosage: ?@ 1 tablet 3 times daily. ?A 1 sachet 3 times daily. ?B 3 tablets 3 times daily.
